Five things I learned about type
The first thing I learned about type, is that when making message, you have to choose the right type face for the message you're giving. Otherwise the message will not be received as anticipated, because different type brings out a different feeling.
The second thing I learned about type, is that everything in the design matters. And it is in the service of the message of the project, so always be aware of what you put on and why you put it on their, since that it was the viewer and the client will see.
The third thing I learned is always grids. When using a grid, it will help organize the layout of the design, so that it will clean look and professional.
The fourth thing I learned is always sketch and experiment multiple iterations of the project, because you may come up with something you wouldn't have thought of in the first place. And it can lead to interesting designs.
Last thing I learned is always do a mock up print, that way you can see how it turns out when it prints out. Because what you see on the computer can come out different on print, and you also have a better chance of catching any mistakes you didn't see before.
Five things I should have learned
Breana
I should have learned to do a foldout and some small panels and see how it would of worked especially for type anatomy.
Delane
What I should of have learned is maybe do a theme that feels a bit more like a theme for the company. And also put the logo on the back cover of the publication
Brie
I learned from Brie, is definitely try have some organization, that way you won't confuse the viewer or client, with scattered type.
Sam
Try a minimal approach, but also playful at the same time
Alyssa
What I learned is definitively watch on the placement of the type, that way the images or shapes wont interfere with the legibility of the type
